5th graders at Northwoods Fine Arts Academy are strumming their way to success thanks to a generous grant from the Sand Springs Education Foundation (SSEF).
The grant funded the purchase of ukuleles, introducing a new world of musical exploration and creativity to the classroom. Students are developing essential music skills, including rhythm, melody, and harmony, while also fostering teamwork and collaboration.
Playing an instrument has numerous cognitive benefits, from enhancing memory and concentration to boosting problem-solving abilities. The ukulele program at Northwoods Fine Arts Academy is not only providing students with a fun and engaging learning experience but also equipping them with valuable life skills that will benefit them in all areas of their lives.
