Garfield STEAM Academy transformed its library into an enchanting campsite for the ultimate reading adventure! Librarian Kami McCabe’s vision, brought to life with the support of the Sand Springs Education Foundation, created a magical experience for students.
Camp Read-a-Lot offered a variety of “campsites” where students could explore the joy of reading. From cozy nooks illuminated by lantern light to interactive game stations, the library became a haven for imagination and learning. Students even had the opportunity to gaze up at simulated constellations, sparking curiosity about the vast universe.
This immersive experience encouraged a love of reading and deepened a sense of wonder and exploration. By creating a fun and engaging environment, Camp Read-a-Lot inspired students to see the library as a place of adventure and discovery.
