Second graders at Pratt Elementary have become skilled emotion detectives thanks to a generous grant from the Sand Springs Education Foundation.
Under the expert guidance of school counselor Mindy Lee and dedicated parent volunteers, these young learners embarked on a thrilling adventure of self-discovery.
Equipped with detective badges and a sense of curiosity, students delved into the world of emotions. Through engaging activities such as crafting and puzzle-solving, they learned to identify a wide range of feelings, from happiness and excitement to sadness and anger. By understanding their emotions, students developed essential coping strategies and built emotional resilience.
This innovative program not only fostered emotional intelligence but also strengthened the bond between students, teachers, and parents. The collaboration between school and community was instrumental in creating a supportive learning environment where students felt empowered to express themselves and connect with others.
