A Starry Night in the Classroom

Fourth graders at Pratt Elementary transformed their classroom into a vibrant art studio, thanks to a generous grant from the Sand Springs Education Foundation. As part of a comprehensive unit exploring the enchanting city of Paris, students embarked on a creative journey inspired by the iconic masterpiece, “The Starry Night” by Vincent van Gogh.

Through an exciting video lesson provided by Pinot’s Palette, students were guided step-by-step in recreating this renowned artwork. The hands-on experience immersed them in the world of art and developed their knowledge of color theory and observational abilities. By taking part in this process, students gained a deeper appreciation for Van Gogh’s genius and the power of artistic expression.
