How We Help

The Foundation has been helping district teachers for over 30 years. Some of the grants have helped to secure special equipment, while others have been used to implement innovative projects which emphasize new teaching approaches for their students. It is the Foundation's desire to help enhance the learning opportunities for the students in our district. The SSEF Grants Program is a means for you to add to the overall enrichment and creativity in your classroom.

In 2014 Clyde Boyd Middle School Instructors Kenneth Cole and Austin Shipman wrote a Grant "Sandites in Space". This project involved the science classes at the Middle School and helped meet requirements of STEM. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) The grant involved the launch of a weather balloon from the CBMS practice field and tracking it's flight. Pictures and data were then used back in the classroom.

In 2015 a second successful launch was made. Included are pictures & descriptions as well as the final launch video that you can download on your computer for viewing.

In November of 2021, SSEF granted over $78,000 in grants to teachers!
